About
Iain Phillips
Design Director
Iain has over 15 years of experience in design direction, human-centred design, co-design and service innovation. He has worked on digital and business transformation projects across the United Kingdom, Europe, North America, Africa and Australia.
Iain’s approach is grounded. He grasps complexity and delivers clarity whilst maintaining the often elusive qualities that communicate a brand. His work is unified in its purpose: to design solutions to complex problems that honour people’s lived experiences and create and improve relationships so that meaningful change can occur.
Iain's international experience includes delivering digital transformation projects across multiple sectors with organisations such as Lloyds Bank, E.ON Energy and Turkcell. He has deep expertise in service innovation, including working with AstraZeneca establishing and leading a 5 year, $30 million digital innovation programme, and developing and testing healthcare services that better support people in difficult times. Further examples of his work include creating social enterprises in Tanzania and Kenya that enable the early diagnosis of heart disease, and developing a coaching app that supports behaviour change for people who have suffered a heart attack in North America.
Most recently, Iain has worked with Bank Australia, the Australian Energy Marketing Operator, and with Scope Australia to shift service delivery in the disability sector by creating a more accessible and inclusive model that brings the customer experience to the fore.
Iain has a Bachelor of Engineering specialising in product design and mechanical engineering from the Glasgow School of Art and the Glasgow University. This formation and his professional experience have given Iain fluency in both human-centred design and technical delivery, allowing him to support and elevate creative and innovative products and solutions for diverse clients.
