Teaching is about inspiration, not information

At this point, there's very little in the way of pure information that can't be found online. You can learn about Gödel's incompleteness theorums, the 1956 Hungarian Revolution and the reproductive cycle of the fruit fly in a few clicks.

But why would you? How would you hear of these things, care enough to look them up, and know what context to put them in? This piece gives tips on how to motivate students to take an interest in the material.
