Product Design

We shape digital products that are useful, usable, and desirable — grounded in a deep understanding of the people who rely on them. From early-stage discovery through to refined interaction design and visual systems, our research-led approach helps teams create products that genuinely serve their users.

What product design means to us

Product design is the discipline of shaping digital experiences that work for the people who use them — and the organisations that build them. It covers the full arc from discovery and framing, through concept development and interaction design, to the visual systems that bring everything together.

Great product design starts with understanding. We work to uncover real user needs, map existing behaviours, and identify the moments where design can make the biggest difference. The result is digital products that are:

  • Useful — solving genuine problems, not imagined ones
  • Usable — intuitive to navigate, easy to learn
  • Desirable — considered, coherent, and a pleasure to interact with
  • Sustainable — built on systems that scale and evolve

How we approach product design

We bring research and design together from day one, so every decision is grounded in evidence rather than assumption. Our designers work closely with researchers, strategists, and your team to move from insight to interaction — quickly, iteratively, and with confidence.

Our product design practice covers:

  • Discovery and framing — defining what to build and why, informed by user research and business context
  • Concept development — exploring directions through sketches, wireframes, and rapid prototyping
  • Interaction design — structuring flows, navigation, and interface behaviour so the product feels natural
  • Visual design systems — creating cohesive design languages that maintain consistency across platforms and scale with your product

From early-stage concepts to live products

We work across the full product lifecycle — from first sketches on a whiteboard to polished interfaces in production. Whether you are starting from scratch or improving something that already exists, we meet you where you are and help you move forward with clarity.

Our product design work spans:

  • New product development — helping teams navigate ambiguity, validate ideas, and shape concepts into viable digital products
  • Redesign and optimisation — partnering with organisations to rethink existing products so they better serve the people who rely on them
  • Design systems — creating the foundations that let teams build consistently and ship confidently as products grow
  • Prototyping and testing — making ideas tangible early, so we can learn fast and invest in what actually works

When Bank Australia needed to redesign their website to better express their values and serve their customers, we brought together UX research, interaction design, and visual design to create a digital experience that felt as purposeful as the bank itself.

Design that sits within a larger system

The products we design rarely exist in isolation — they connect to services, organisations, and ecosystems. That is why our product design practice draws on systems thinking as much as interface craft. We look beyond the screen to understand the journeys, processes, and decisions that surround a digital product.

This perspective helps us design products that do more than look good. They reduce friction in complex workflows, surface the right information at the right moment, and give people confidence to act — even when the underlying system is complicated.

Working with Moonee Valley Legal Service and Legal Aid NSW, we redesigned the fine resolution process — turning a confusing legal pathway into a clear, navigable digital experience that improved financial and legal outcomes for people in the community.

Building tools that give people agency

Some of our most impactful product design work creates entirely new tools — digital products that did not exist before, designed to give people information and power they previously lacked. These projects demand deep user understanding, careful interaction design, and close collaboration with subject-matter experts.

We partner with organisations who see technology as a way to level the playing field. The goal is not just a functional tool but one that feels trustworthy, accessible, and genuinely helpful — especially for people navigating difficult situations.

When Social Security Rights Victoria needed a way to help people navigate the complex Disability Support Pension application process, we designed and built DSP Help — an online resource and chatbot that gives applicants the information and tools they need to succeed.

Products that deliver lasting value

Across every project, our goal is the same: digital products that create real value for the people who use them and the organisations that build them. We measure success not just in usability metrics or visual polish, but in the outcomes products help deliver — better decisions, clearer pathways, stronger engagement.

Our product design work has helped organisations serve their customers more effectively, open new channels of access, and build digital experiences that people return to and recommend. If you are building something that needs to work beautifully for the people it serves, we would love to help.

We pay our respects to the traditional custodians of the lands on which we live and work, and to the traditional custodians of the lands and waters which we may visit upon in our work. We acknowledge their elders past and present. Indigenous sovereignty has never been ceded. It always was, and always will be Aboriginal land.
