Falling in love with regional Victoria’s small businesses

Beth Warhurst
Beth Warhurst, Project Manager

The summer brings about the great tradition of the road trip. Bundled into a car, off to visit new places or old favourites – places that feel as familiar as your own backyard. My recent trip was an enjoyable reminder of how much small businesses add to a community. I visited places small-scale, regenerative producers and makers growing delicious produce locally, places where the staff are composed of family members of multiple generations. The local cafes and pubs create a micro-community to welcome new faces or tourists passing through.

I suggest visiting the Click for Vic website for a directory of small businesses, things to do and how to get around Regional Victoria. It has become my go-to guide for future adventures. The best part is the online store – if you can’t go on a road trip just yet, you can buy direct from chefs, artisans, makers and creators across Melbourne and Victoria.
